A helping hand has always meant a lot. It means even more in service to the sick and the frontline workers attending to them.

Yusef Norman, Site Supervisor at Jennersville Hospital in West Grove, PA, knows this and lives it. For his noble efforts, the 4 year veteran of DSI Security Services has received the 2020 Nursing Excellence Award for Individual Interdisciplinary Collaboration.

“Yusef provides amazing support to our staff, patients and families,” said Michael Coveney, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Jennersville Hospital / Tower Health. “He’s dependable, always goes above and beyond, and many times presents himself during critical situations before being asked.”

Norman not only demonstrates strong collaboration with and support of Jennersville Hospital’s clinical nursing team and contributes to the high-quality patient care and safety, his dedication to the medical mission even extends to off-hours.

“On one occasion, there was a behavioral patient in the ER who was escalating and, on his day off, Yusef came in from home to provide extra support in the situation and comfort staff,” Coveney added. “This is one of the many reasons why he is the winner of our Individual Interdisciplinary Collaboration Award.”

Norman spends time with his family and roots for his Philadelphia teams during his off time.

Of course, he’s also a firm believer in the DWYSYWD motto — Do What You Say You Will Do — DSI’s customer service creed reflecting its strong commitment to promise and deliver service superiority to clients. Not coincidentally, Norman is also being nominated by the company for the September Security Officer of the month.

“We congratulate Yusef on this very impressive and well-earned honor,” said Marty Clark, president of DSI Security Services. “His tremendous record of service and positive energy help so many, from the hospital and its patients to all those inspired in both the community and our company.”
