DSI Security Services is proudly celebrating its 55th year of service. The success DSI has experienced is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its employees and the steady leadership of its Executive Team.
In 1969, Sheriff A.B. Clark received a phone call that was the beginning of what would eventually become one of the premier privately owned security companies in the country. This call seeking to hire a local, private security company for the construction of the Farley Nuclear Plant in nearby Columbia, Alabama showed Clark the need for such a company in the Wiregrass. From this simple request and A.B.’s vision, DSI was born.
Now 55 years later, DSI is a leader in the security industry, providing total security solutions to its clients through guard services, technology, and consultations. As their reputation began to grow, DSI expanded from coast to coast with business in 33 states and more than 5,400 employees.
Today, DSI is owned and operated by A.B.’s son, Alan Clark, and his wife, Marty. Alan attributes DSI’s success to having great people that live out the “Do What You Say You Will Do” motto and clients who are more like family. Alan believes, “Our success over the last 55 years is based upon nothing more than having a strong team of dedicated and professional employees, as well as loyal customers who have allowed us to grow with them.”
Unlike most large companies in their industry, DSI has remained family-owned and operated with Alan’s two sons, Boyd and Deavours, and his wife, Marty, actively contributing to the business. Their dedication and involvement give Alan hope for the future of the company.
Marty currently serves as the CEO and is a key figure in guiding the company’s direction, helping advocate for DSI as a WBENC Certified Business. Boyd plays a pivotal role as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Deavours is instrumental to the advancement of the company in his role as Senior Vice President of Operations and Technology. Alan said, “It really is meaningful to me and the company to have my two sons and wife serving in critical roles that are helping to shape the future of the company. Along with both Boyd and Deavours, I have absolute confidence in the rest of our leadership team, including our President, Eddie Sorrells, who just won the Lindberg Bell Security Executive of the Year Award. Our team at DSI’s commitment to excellence and integrity inspires confidence in me that DSI will continue to stand for the same values and principles it was founded upon for many years to come.”
